Caoria – Malga Miesnotta di Sopra

From Caoria (847 m) close to the Museum of the Great War, near the new Church, take the narrow road signposted Valsorda Valzanca nr. 352. Quite steep, you will soon gain height until ending up on a slight slope in the woods which penetrates into the Valsorda.
Continue until you arrive at the locality of "Ponte Stel" (1.128 m). Continue past the bridge until you reach the crossroads Valsorda Valzanca and then continue along the forest road of Valzanca nr. 368, until you can see the Malga Piani de Valzanca and continue until you see a sign indicating State owned Forest of Valzanca. After about 500 metres, at the crossroads, take the nr. 336 road on the left with signs to Malga Miesnotta which with a steep climb in the woods and then via occasional pastures leads to Malga Miesnotta halfway and then Malga Miesnotta at the top 1.879 m).
The Malga is unattended, but just recently has been put right and adapted to allow rest breaks and overnight accommodation for hikers (it is necessary to ask for information at the offices of the Panaveggio Park Board - Pale di San Martino about its use). The Malga is set in an alpine site of great beauty in the presence of Cima Cece, in an area with an abundance of easily spotted animals.
Itinerary practicable also by mountain bike.
